Students to get books from Unicef

ATAMBUA, East Nusa Tenggara: The United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) will provide textbooks for 339 students at state elementary school "Wirasakti" in Atambua, Belu district, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Kupang's Wirasakti Military commander, Col. Moeswarno Moesanip, said here on Saturday the books would be delivered to the students, most of them former refugees from East Timor.

The Wirasakti elementary school was inaugurated last Friday for children of former East Timorese refugees who have become Indonesian citizens.

The school is being supported by the Indonesian Military, the Belu district administration, the European Union and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. --Antara
