Students tired of bickering
SALATIGA, Central Java: Students at the conflict-ridden Satya Wacana Christian University continued boycotting classes yesterday to press their demands for settlement of the dispute.
The students are from the School of Engineering, School of Agriculture, School of Biology, School of Sciences and Mathematics, School of Teaching and Education and the post- graduate program in Development Studies.
The boycott was supported by the director of the postgraduate program, deans of the five schools as well as deans from the School of Law and the School of Theology.
The students have been absent from classes since last week in protest over the dismissal of Arief Budiman, a popular lecturer at the university.
The only department which does not support the boycott is the School of Economics.(har/sim)
