Students Stage Demonstration at Rear Gate of Parliament

A group of university students staged demonstrations at several points today, including a rally at the rear gate of the DPR/MPR RI building. Based on monitoring by detikcom on Monday (15/6/2026) at 16:55 WIB, at the Pancasila Gate of the DPR, a crowd wearing various university alma mater jackets was seen protesting. They delivered speeches using loudspeakers. The crowd also carried several banners containing their demands. The demand banners were hung at the entrance. Some individuals also burned tyres. Traffic flow appeared to be congested at the protest site. Police were seen escorting the action. The crowd highlighted the weakening of the rupiah exchange rate and the acid attack case against KontraS Deputy Coordinator Andrie Yunus. “We, Indonesian students, swear to have one homeland, a homeland without oppression. We, Indonesian students, swear to have one nation, a nation that yearns for justice. We, Indonesian students, swear to have one language, a language without lies,” the students shouted. In addition to the rear gate of the DPR building, students held demonstrations around the Horse Statue area in Central Jakarta and the front gate of the DPR building.
