Students stage cleanliness event

JAKARTA (JP): As many as 300 senior and junior high school
students cleaned away graffiti at public places in Pasar Minggu,
South Jakarta.

Organized by the Communication Forum of Jakarta Students
(FKMJ), the program was aimed at facilitating communication among
students. "In this way they are expected to appreciate the sense
of togetherness and stop brawls," Erni, a member of the
organizing committee, said.

The organizers got Rp 1.2 million in donation from Pasar
Minggu district office for buying 21 gallons of paint and for the
operational costs.

The head of the Pasar Minggu district office, Suparmo said
that he supported the program since it brought positive results,

Pasar Minggu has not seen any student brawls in the last six
months, he said. (29)
