JAKARTA — Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM) has emphasised the importance of students mastering problem-solving skills during their university studies. The university considers this essential to preparing young people for the challenges and changing conditions of the professional workplace.

As a Digital Business Campus, UNM supports the development of these skills through case-study-based learning, group projects and student organisation activities. Research and interactive discussions are also designed to help students become accustomed to processing data and analysing situations systematically.

Sofian Wira Hadi, Marketing Communications officer at UNM’s Jatiwaringin Campus, said analytical and problem-solving skills do not develop overnight, but must be honed through practical experience.

“Students need to become used to facing problems and finding solutions systematically. This process will help them understand that a problem can be viewed from various perspectives before deciding how to resolve it,” he said in a statement received on Sunday (25 October 2026).

He added that failure or mistakes during the learning process are normal and can provide valuable material for evaluation. Through trial and error and identifying obstacles, students learn to think more critically and systematically, and to take responsibility for each decision they make.

“Developing analytical thinking during university is expected to produce graduates who are not only academically strong, but also adaptable and resilient in the workplace. This preparedness is a key asset for UNM students as they respond to the digital industry’s challenges in the future,” he said.
