Students protest Laksamana visit

BANDUNG: Dozens of students at Bandung Institute of Technology
(ITB) staged a protest on Friday at their campus, rejecting the
visit of Laksamana Sukardi, the State Minister of State
Enterprises.

In the protest, the students accused the minister of
campaigning for his boss President Megawati Soekarnoputri during
his visit to the ITB campus. In the visit, Laksamana addressed a
crowd of students and lecturers during a gathering held by the
ITB alumni association.

Megawati is running against Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in the
Sept. 20 presidential election runoff. -- JP
