Students protest for vagabonds

SEMARANG: About 100 students of the Diponegoro University's School of Letters here held a rally on Thursday to demand that the government help street children and their mothers.

They said the number of vagabonds had increased because the government had been too slow in handling the economic crisis.

"We demand the government really address the crisis, for instance lower the prices of basic essentials which have been skyrocketing," they said.

The rally was staged in front of the provincial legislature office. They later dispersed peacefully. (har)
