Students Protest at Parliament, Urge Government to Lower Fuel and Staple Food Prices

University students held a protest in front of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) building in Jakarta on Friday (19/6/2026). Students from several universities demonstrated to demand that the government control the state budget and lower the prices of fuel and staple goods. Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and fellow deputy speaker Saan Mustopa met with the protesting students in front of the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta. The DPR leadership has received the aspirations of the protesting students and will immediately follow up on the demands conveyed.
