Students Invited to Contribute to Tourist Villages through Community Service Programme
PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) is once again presenting the Genera-Z Berbakti programme, targeting students from various universities across Indonesia. This programme serves as a platform for the younger generation to channel innovative ideas while directly contributing to society through activities such as Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN), community service, or similar initiatives in tourist villages sponsored by Bakti BCA.
EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility at BCA, Hera F. Haryn, explained that Genera-Z Berbakti is a call for proposals programme for student groups committed to taking concrete actions within communities. She noted that the younger generation has great potential due to their critical thinking and adaptability to technological advancements and innovations.
“This programme is not merely community service, but also part of efforts to prepare future leaders who are competent, have integrity, and can deliver positive impacts for the nation towards Indonesia Emas 2045,” said Hera.
The programme was first held in 2025, with four student groups from four different universities selected as winners. All participants carried out their community service programmes in tourist villages sponsored by Bakti BCA, with full support including guidance, training, mentoring, and funding until the programmes were completed.
For the 2026 implementation, the programme will again select four winning groups eligible for funding and mentoring during one month of execution. From these four groups, the best team will receive additional appreciation in the form of hundreds of millions of rupiah in funding and a certificate of appreciation.
Each participating team is required to consist of 10 to 12 students from across study programmes or faculties. In the submitted proposals, participants can choose a maximum of two focus issues, namely sustainable tourism and SME development.
The service locations that can be selected include several tourist villages, such as Desa Wisata Kreatif Terong in Belitung Regency, Desa Wisata Situs Gunung Padang in Cianjur Regency, Desa Wisata Patakbanteng in Wonosobo Regency, and Desa Wisata Kakaskasen Dua in Tomohon City.
The programme is open to students from universities registered with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, or other related institutions, at the Diploma III, Applied Bachelor, or Bachelor levels.
Registration for Genera-Z Berbakti 2026 is open until 24 April. The announcement of finalists is scheduled for 30 April, followed by the judging stage on 16–17 May until the determination of winners. Subsequently, the bootcamp and participant launch will take place in the first week of July, with programme implementation at respective locations until 6 August. The final stage of reporting and presentations is scheduled for the second week of August.
Hera added that the programme is expected to encourage students to contribute to development from an early stage, while nurturing values of leadership, creativity, and social awareness.
“This programme not only provides tangible benefits to society but also strengthens collaboration between the business world and educational institutions as a manifestation of gotong royong in creating sustainable impacts,” she stated.
In the 2025 edition, the programme successfully garnered more than 250 proposals from 98 public and private universities, both domestic and international. The four winning teams came from Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Lampung, Universitas Sam Ratulangi, and Universitas Gadjah Mada.
