REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIMAHI – Cases of suspected food poisoning after consuming meals from the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program have been reported among students and teachers in Cimahi City, West Java, on Wednesday (February 25th, 2026). Some victims have been referred to several hospitals in Cimahi City for further treatment.

“It is true that there are reports of several people being admitted to hospitals due to suspected food poisoning. I received the report at 5:30 PM,” said the Head of the Cimahi City Health Department, Mulyati, at Cibabat Hospital.

According to reports received by the Cimahi City Health Department until 8:00 PM, the victims of the suspected food poisoning after consuming the MBG meals were taken to Cibabat Hospital, Mitra Kasih Hospital, and Dustira Hospital.

“Currently, there are 2 patients admitted to Mitra Kasih Hospital, 1 to Dustira Hospital, and 11 to Cibabat Hospital,” Mulyati explained.

The preliminary assessment revealed that the victims, who are students from various schools at the kindergarten, early childhood education, elementary, and junior high levels, consumed the MBG meals on Wednesday (February 25th, 2026). Some consumed the meals after they were distributed by the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG), while others consumed them during iftar (breaking of the fast).

“Some of the meals were distributed by the SPPG, and some were eaten after iftar. For the younger children, perhaps they ate the meals around 11 AM or 12 PM,” she said.

After consuming the MBG meals, the students reportedly experienced symptoms of food poisoning, such as vomiting and dizziness, and were taken to health facilities. “On average, they experienced vomiting, nausea, and dizziness,” said Mulyati.
