Students hijack bus after final exam

JAKARTA: A group of students from SMKN 5 public high school hijacked a Patas 4 (P-4) bus plying the Rawamangun-Grogol route on Wednesday.

The students also robbed passengers of their wallets, watches, jewelry and other valuables, private television, SCTV reported.

The incident took place just hours after the students had completed their final exams.

One of the passengers was able to get off the bus and report the robbery to a nearby police post.

The police stopped the bus and took the students to the Tebet Police station in South Jakarta.

Also on Wednesday, there were several student brawls in the Roxy area of Central Jakarta, and the areas of Matraman and Salemba, on the border between Central and East Jakarta. No casualties were reported. --JP
