Jakarta (ANTARA) - As many as 250 students from SMP Negeri 60 Jakarta learned about the types of uniforms and weapons used by the Presidential Security Force (Paspampres) during the Palace for School Children programme in Jakarta on Tuesday.

“Thank you, President Prabowo, for inviting us to the Palace. We gained new knowledge that the Palace is not just about gardens and the palace building, but there is a government system within it,” said one of the SMPN 60 Jakarta students, Jamhari Hafizh, quoted from the official Instagram account of the Cabinet Secretariat.

This educational activity, held in the Presidential Palace complex, differed from previous visits. This time, the participants had a rare opportunity to interact directly with Paspampres personnel tasked with securing the Head of State.

In that session, the students learned about various types of service uniforms used by Paspampres in different operational situations. In addition to the uniform aspect, the students were also shown various types of weapons that are standard equipment for those security forces.

Before interacting with Paspampres, the students first attended an interactive discussion session in the Hoegeng Auditorium, Cabinet Secretariat Office. The discussion carried the theme “The President and the Young Generation: Why Policies Are Important for Your Future?”.

After that, the group of SMPN 60 Jakarta students had the opportunity to tour the Presidential Palace area. The students took advantage of the moment to take photos together at iconic spots in the government centre environment.

This programme is designed to create an educational yet memorable experience for secondary school students. The activity is expected to broaden the students’ insights into the structure and workings of the central government system.
