Students from Multiple Bandung Campuses Stage Demonstrations Today
Students from various universities and organisations in Bandung, West Java, simultaneously staged demonstrations demanding action from President Prabowo Subianto’s administration on 15 June 2026. They gathered to protest at the West Java Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) building and the Bank Indonesia regional office for West Java.
Several calls to action were uploaded by the media outlet Bandung Bergerak on Monday morning, 15 June 2026. In the posts, student executive bodies from several campuses announced a rally at the West Java DPRD at 1 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. One of these was from the BEM of Widyatama University, which carried the theme ‘Indonesia Sakit’ (Indonesia is Sick) with a gathering point at Widyatama Airport.
Another action flyer was created by the BEM of Pasundan University. BEM Unpas called for an ‘Indonesia Bangkrut’ (Indonesia is Bankrupt) rally in front of the Bank Indonesia West Java regional office at 11 a.m. Western Indonesia Time. The BEM Nusantara Alliance also called for an action at the DPRD building with a gathering point at the Bandung Islamic University (Unisba) campus at 1 p.m. Western Indonesia Time.
BEM Digitech University also called for an action with the theme ‘Dosa Indonesia’ (Indonesia’s Sins). Another campus joining the protest was the Student Executive Council (Dema) of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, which also planned to demonstrate at the West Java DPRD.
Additionally, the Suci Bergerak Student Alliance and the Indonesian National Student Movement (GMNI) Bandung City branch were also set to march on the West Java DPRD building this afternoon.
The actions in Bandung add to the list of ‘Reformasi Jilid 2’ (Reformation Volume 2) demonstrations being held today in various cities. In Jakarta, the BEM of Bung Karno University and the Student Senate (Sema) of Paramadina University were also scheduled to hold an action at the Presidential Palace today.
In Central Java, the Semarang branch of the Islamic Student Association (HMI) also held an action today. According to its Instagram account, HMI Semarang carried the call for ‘Reformasi Jilid 2’. They invited all HMI cadres to join the demonstration to topple the Prabowo-Gibran administration at 10 a.m. Western Indonesia Time. The action was to be held at all central points in Semarang City, with a gathering point at the HMI Semarang branch secretariat.
Campuses outside Java were also set to hold actions today. One of these was the BEM of the University of Sumatera Utara (USU). BEM USU planned to bring six demands to the action: energy and fuel price hikes; the national economy; security regulations (the Police Bill); evaluation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme; the education budget; and environmental and agrarian issues.
The action was scheduled for 12 p.m. Western Indonesia Time with a gathering point at the USU Student Government Secretariat. The protest point was the North Sumatera Provincial DPRD Building.
Another campus in Sumatera holding an action today was the Student Executive Council (Dema) of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, South Sumatera. Through its Instagram account, Dema UIN Raden Fatah called this action ‘Indonesia Darurat’ (Indonesia in Emergency). The gathering point was the UIN Raden Fatah basketball court at 8 a.m. Western Indonesia Time, with the demonstration point at the South Sumatera DPRD Building.
