Students debate danger of AIDS
JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian AIDS Foundation held an AIDS discussion with senior high school students at Taman Ria Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Friday with the aim of disseminating information about the deadly disease.
Mira Fajar Aviatri, coordinator of the discussion, said the discussion was also intended to make students between the ages of 15 and 20 more aware about AIDS.
The discussion featured a debate between students of state high school SMU 78 and their counterparts from the Lab School. They debated what they would do if one of their close friends contracted HIV.
Psychologist Sarlito W. Sarwono and photo models Novita Anggraeni and Farhan were present at the debate as mediators.
"The students, who could be at risk to the disease, would have to pay attention to the continuation of the life of their infected friend," Mira said. (25)
