Students cross river to reach school in West Aceh
Students are crossing a river to attend school in West Aceh. Parents are seen carrying their children on their shoulders while traversing the Meureubo river to travel from Canggai Village to Jambak Village, Pante Ceureumen District, West Aceh, on Friday (5/6/2026). For the past four days, students of SDN Alue Lhok have been forced to wade through the river current to reach school for their grade promotion examinations. This is an attempt to shorten an eight-kilometre journey, as the suspension bridge connecting the villages has remained broken since a flash flood disaster in late November 202ര്5 and has yet to be repaired.
