Students call for monitoring of Susilo
JAKARTA: Student activists grouped under the Indonesian Muslim
Students Action Front (KAMMI) appealed to the public on Tuesday
to monitor Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Jusuf Kalla's first 100
days in office.
Yuli Widy Astono, chairman of the group, suggested that the
public and other organizations maintain a critical stand on the
new president and vice president, who will be sworn in on Oct.
20.
During his campaign, Susilo pledged to eradicate corruption,
uphold civilian supremacy, resist foreign intervention and to
bring prosperity to the country. -- JP
