Students Blocked at Dukuh Atas as Police Blockade Road

Students on a long march from Senayan to the Bundaran HI roundabout were halted in the Dukuh Atas area of Jalan Sudirman, Jakarta, on Friday (12/6/2026). The students were blocked because access along Jalan Sudirman towards the Hotel Indonesia roundabout, an area filled with office buildings, had been closed. Meanwhile, according to CNBC Indonesia’s monitoring at the Bundaran HI area, police troops on motorcycles began to stand guard in anticipation of the demonstrators’ arrival. A number of police officers also erected barricades on Jalan Sudirman. In their action, the students are bringing five demands: first, urging the government to stop wasting the state budget (APBN); second, to lower the prices of staple goods and fuel (BBM); third, to halt the Free Nutritious Meal programme and the construction of the Red and White Village Cooperatives; fourth, to end civil militarism; and fifth, demanding that President Prabowo Subianto stop evading and acknowledge the government’s mistakes.
