Students at Tosari Disband, Begin Long March to Semanggi

A number of students staging a demonstration in the Tosari area of Jalan Sudirman, Central Jakarta, have disbanded. Students from three universities dispersed on foot heading towards Semanggi.

Based on detikcom’s monitoring on Jalan Sudirman, Jakarta, Friday (12/6/2026), at around 7.20pm WIB, students were seen walking towards Semanggi. They also appeared to be heading to Sudirman Station.

During the long march, the students could be heard singing ‘Garuda Pancasila’ as they disbanded. Three universities were observed taking part in the dispersal.

The three universities were UIN Jakarta, Politeknik Negeri Jakarta (PNJ), and Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) Jakarta. At the Sudirman statue location, some students were also seen sitting on the roadside.

At the site, police erected barriers to divert traffic flow from the Bundaran HI roundabout to Jalan Pasar Baru Timur III. Meanwhile, some students remained stationed near the Tosari bus stop.

The protesters’ demands were as follows:

  1. Stop the waste of the state budget (APBN)

  2. Lower the prices of basic necessities and fuel

  3. Halt the MBG programme and the construction of the Red and White Village Cooperatives

  4. End militarism in the civilian sphere

  5. Prabowo must stop evading and acknowledge the government’s mistakes.
