Student Swept Away by Floods in Buleleng Found Deceased
After a massive search effort by all relevant parties, a student from Buleleng, Bali, who was swept away by floodwaters, was found deceased. This was confirmed by the Head of the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office, Nyoman Sidakarya, regarding the progress of the search for the flood victim on Friday (12/6/2026).
He explained that the victim of the flood that struck Bakti Seraga Village, Buleleng Regency, Bali, was finally found dead by the joint SAR team on Friday afternoon, approaching evening.
The Coordinator of the Buleleng Search and Rescue Post, Kadek Dony Indrawan, also confirmed the same information. He revealed that the team initially split up to search several locations around the affected area. “We divided the team in the initial search or combing action at the incident location,” he explained. The SRU team combed the river flow all the way to the edge of Pengambengan Beach.
At 4:15 PM local time, information was received that the victim had been found deceased. “We received information that the target was found under the rubble of a house, and we then carried out a manual evacuation,” he stated.
The evacuation process lasted until 5:12 PM local time. The effort to retrieve the victim was conducted carefully due to the unstable condition of the building. After being successfully removed from the debris, the body of Ricardo Razaq Alghivieri (20) was transported to Buleleng Regional General Hospital using a PMI Buleleng ambulance.
It was previously reported that one person became a victim of the flooding that hit Bakti Seraga Village, Buleleng Regency, Bali, on Friday afternoon. The Denpasar Search and Rescue Office received the information at 1:55 PM local time and immediately took action. An initial search along the river yielded no results.
The SAR operation involved elements from the Buleleng Search and Rescue Post, the Buleleng Regent and staff, Buleleng Regional Disaster Management Agency, Buleleng Police Water Unit, Singaraja City Police, Buleleng Police Samapta Unit, the Indonesian Navy Sangsit Post, Buleleng Fire Department, Buleleng District employees, Bakti Seraga Community Police Officers, Bakti Seraga Village Supervisory Non-Commissioned Officers, Military Sub-District Command 01 Buleleng, Buleleng Public Works and Spatial Planning Office, the Social Service, PMI Buleleng, Balawista Buleleng, Bhuana Bali Rescue, Bakti Seraga Village officials, local residents, and the victim’s family.
