Student suspect in housemaid's murder

BOGOR (JP): Bogor Police have arrested a man who allegedly murdered a housemaid during a robbery at Cimanggu housing complex here on Friday.

The man was identified as Rino Siswanto, 21, a student of an academy in Bogor, Antara reported on Sunday.

He was arrested at a shabu-shabu (crystal methamphetamine) party at a friend's house on Jl. Merdeka, Bogor, at 9:30 p.m. on Friday.

Another suspect, identified as Rudy, 24, is still at large, but police have identified several locations which he is believed to have used as hideouts.

Titin Suprihatin was found dying the garage of the home of her employer, Irvan Arif, who was away when the incident occurred.

Rino told the police during the interrogation that he killed the housemaid by hitting her over the head with a mortar before stabbing her in the abdomen.

After overpowering her, police said Roni and Rudy took valuables including a television set, VCD player, computer and jewelry.

"Money from the sale of the stolen goods was used to buy the drugs for the party where he was arrested," a police officer who asked not to be named told Antara.
