Student steals supervisor's car

BOGOR (JP): A student working part-time at the Bogor City Council has admitted to stealing his boss' minivan because she scolded him.

Tubagus Desmi Safari, 21, who lives in Taman Sari Persada, is a student at Pakuan University in Bogor and has been working for the council on a contract basis.

He told reporters at Bogor Police headquarters on Friday that he had stolen the Kijang belonging to Erna Hernawati, the head of economic infrastructure at the council, on Thursday because "she had scolded me", he said.

Desmi made a duplicate key to steal the vehicle, which he later sold to another student for Rp 25 million.

Desmi was arrested on Friday by the police at his parents' house in Kebon Pedes subdistrict following a complaint from Erna, police said. --JP
