Student stabbed to death

JAKARTA (JP): A student at the Technical High School was stabbed to death by a group of at least six men at Pondok Kopi area in East Jakarta yesterday.

"All of the suspects are still at large but their identities are clear enough to us," City Police Spokesman Lt. Col. Iman Haryatna said.

Wijayantri, 18, was stabbed several times in the face, abdomen, back and thighs, Iman said.

The motive for the killing remains unknown, but police assume that the incident was due to a misunderstanding. (bsr)
