Student protest mars Boyce visit

BANDUNG: Student protests marred U.S. Ambassador Ralph L.
Boyce's visit to Padjadjaran University in Jatinangor, Sumedang
in West Java on Tuesday.

About 50 students from various universities in Bandung,
grouped under the Bandung chapter of the National Student Forum,
lashed out at what they said was an arrogant country which often
meddled in other nation's affairs.

The students particularly rejected U.S. allegation that
Indonesia was a terrorist hotbed.

Boyce was invited as a speaker to a seminar titled Islam and
Religious Tolerance in the United States, jointly held by
Padjadjaran university's faculty of social and political sciences
and the United States embassy in Jakarta. -- Antara
