Student Protest in Front of DPR Disperses, Traffic Returns to Normal
Students staging a protest in front of the DPR/MPR RI building on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Central Jakarta, have dispersed. Traffic flow, which had been congested, has now returned to normal.
Monitoring at the location on Monday (22/6/2026) showed the student masses began to disperse at 18.00 WIB, moving towards the Slipi area.
After all protesters had left, all lanes of Jalan Gatot Subroto heading towards Slipi were reopened. Previously, the leftmost lane had been closed due to the demonstration.
Traffic was observed to be busy but flowing smoothly. Vehicles were able to travel at normal speeds on Jalan Gatot Subroto in front of the DPR building.
Earlier, the student masses from the PB PMII group who held the protest in front of the DPR/MPR RI building arrived with five demands. They urged the government to uphold the mandate of the 1945 Constitution, strengthen national economic independence, reset the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), and improve the welfare of teachers.
