Student Murderer in Gomong Arrested, Motive Behind the Heinous Act Revealed
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM – The Mataram Municipal Police Resort in West Nusa Tenggara have arrested a suspected perpetrator with the initials HP (18) who murdered a female student with the initials NDR in her boarding house room in the Gomong area, following a trace of the victim’s two-wheeled vehicle.
“From our investigation, we obtained information about the whereabouts of the victim’s vehicle, which turned out to be in the possession of the suspected perpetrator,” said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of Mataram Municipal Police, Adjunct Police Commissioner I Made Dharma Yulia Putra, in Mataram on Thursday.
He said police arrested the suspect near his home in Punia Subdistrict, Mataram City, on Wednesday (29/7) at 6.00 pm Central Indonesia Time, along with the victim’s vehicle, which had been modified, as evidence.
Upon examination, HP admitted to committing the act in the early hours of that morning.
The perpetrator said he was forced to kill because he was caught by the victim after entering her boarding room through an unlocked back door.
“When he was about to take the vehicle keys, the victim woke up and screamed. In a panic, the suspect pushed the victim until she fell onto the bed, then pinned her down and smothered her with a pillow,” he said.
