A student in Buleleng District, Bali was allegedly raped by an unknown assailant. The distressing incident occurred when the victim was alone at home on Tuesday, 10 March 2026 at approximately 03:00 Wita in the early morning hours.

Head of Public Relations at Buleleng Police Headquarters Inspector Yohana Rosalin Diaz, with the permission of the Buleleng Police Chief, confirmed the report when contacted.

“This incident has been reported to Buleleng Police Headquarters under report number LP/B/78/III/2026/SPKT/Polres Buleleng/Polda Bali dated 10 March. Currently, investigators are conducting an investigation and the identity of the suspect remains under investigation,” she stated on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

At the time of the incident, the victim’s family was at a hospital, leaving the house empty. The suspect allegedly broke into the victim’s locked house before entering the victim’s bedroom.

Upon entering the bedroom, the perpetrator turned off the lights, then committed violence against the victim and threatened to kill her if she screamed.

Fearing for her life, the victim did not dare to resist. After committing the assault, the perpetrator then left the scene.

The victim also stated she did not know the perpetrator. During a brief conversation during the incident, the perpetrator asked whether the victim knew him. Additionally, the perpetrator reportedly stated that he did not come alone, but rather with two other people when entering the victim’s house.

Police are now conducting a series of investigations, including gathering the victim’s statement and tracing the possible whereabouts of the perpetrator.

“Investigators are still conducting a detailed examination of this case by gathering statements and available evidence to identify the perpetrator,” explained Inspector Yohana.
