Student futsal games to be staged

JAKARTA: Sixteen universities across Java island will compete
in the Djarum Super Futsal Weekend Games 2004 at the Bung Karno
Basketball Hall in Senayan, Central Jakarta.

The 16 teams have been divided into four groups. Group matches
will start on Saturday for a two-weekend competition, with the
winners advancing to the May 8 and May 9 semifinals. The final
will be on May 22.

The event is offering Rp 25 million (US$2,941) in cash prizes.

Andi Zamzami of Difamata Citra Selaras, the tournament
organizer, said on Tuesday that given the sport's fledgling
development in the country, the competition aims to promote
futsal among young people. --JP
