Cimahi - Police have arrested YA (16) and AP (17), suspected of murdering SMPN 26 Bandung student ZAAQ (14), whose body was found at the former Kampung Gajah site in West Bandung. YA is a vocational school student from Garut.

As reported by detikJabar on Sunday (2/15/2026), YA and AP were apprehended by the Mobile Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cimahi Police at their residence in Banyuresmi Village, Garut Regency. Before being apprehended, the two suspects had fled to Tasikmalaya.

YA is identified as the primary perpetrator in the murder of the SMPN 26 Bandung student. Cimahi Police Chief AKBP Niko N Adi Putra said both suspects are still minors. YA is registered as a student at a vocational school in Garut, while AP has dropped out of school.

“Both suspects are still minors. YA is a student while AP works as a wedding decorator,” Niko said.

YA and AP allegedly murdered ZAAQ on Monday (2/9/2026) at the former Kampung Gajah tourist attraction site. ZAAQ’s body was discovered by a witness on Friday evening (2/13).

“The victim was killed on Monday afternoon. The perpetrators deliberately came to Bandung. Then there was a gap of several days before the victim’s body was discovered by a witness who was livestreaming on social media on Friday night,” Niko said.

Niko said the suspects allegedly murdered the victim out of resentment. He said ZAAQ had ended the friendship with the suspect.

“The suspect claims to have been hurt by the victim, who made a clear statement ending their friendship,” he said.
