Student dies in discotheque

JAKARTA (JP): A student of the Jakarta Institute for Public Administration (IIP) died early Saturday morning after consuming excessive liquor and drugs at the Millennium discotheque on Jl. Gajah Mada, West Jakarta.

Gambir Police subprecinct chief of detectives Second. Insp. Bayu Dewantoro said the death of 28-year-old Sigit Wijanarko horrified the patrons of the discotheque.

Sigit's body was sent to Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital's morgue.

Sigit's dormitory mate Adam, said the deceased, who graduated from the Academy of Public Administration (APDN) in Jatinangor, Bandung, in 1995, was chief of a subdistrict in Serui before the local administration sent him to study at the Ministry of Home Affairs-owned institute. (01)
