Student Demonstration Planned at Gambir on Friday Afternoon; Avoid the Following Traffic Congestion Points

Jakarta – A student demonstration will be held in Central Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026, in the afternoon.

The Public Relations Section Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Iptu Erlyn Sumantri, stated that the demonstration will take place on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat and around the Horse Statue in Gambir.

“At 1:00 PM on Friday, there will be a protest from the Network of Activists of the Islamic Student Movement of Indonesia,” said Erlyn in her written statement.

To secure this demonstration, a total of 915 combined police personnel have been placed on standby from Friday morning.

Meanwhile, traffic engineering at the demonstration site will be carried out situationally, taking into account the number of protesters on the ground.

Erlyn appealed to the public to avoid the area around the protest to anticipate traffic congestion.

“Residents can look for alternative routes whilst the demonstration is taking place,” she said.
