Student Demonstration at Bundaran HI Diverts Several Transjakarta Routes
PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) has adjusted its routes due to a student demonstration in the Bundaran HI area of Central Jakarta. Several Transjakarta services have been diverted.
Via its X account on Friday (12/6/2026), Transjakarta announced that a number of roads were closed due to the protest, including the Sudirman-Thamrin area and the vicinity of the DPR/MPR building in Central Jakarta. Transjakarta stated that these route diversions are temporary.
The following routes have undergone adjustments:
Route 9D: Pasar Minggu-Tanah Abang is temporarily diverted due to road closures in the Sudirman-Thamrin area. The Tanah Abang-bound service is not serving bus stops from Bendungan Hilir to Pospol Jati Bunder, while the Pasar Minggu-bound service is not serving bus stops from Jambatan Serong to Bendungan Hilir.
Route 6B: Ragunan-Balai Kota via Semanggi has changed its path due to road closures. The Balai Kota-bound route is diverted via Petamburan, but all bus stops are still operating normally to serve passengers.
Routes 1B and 1F are temporarily unable to serve passengers due to road closures around the MPR/DPR building.
Route 8N: Kebayoran-Petamburan via Asia Afrika has been shortened due to road closures around the MPR/DPR building. The Slipi-bound service is not serving bus stops from Istora Senayan to Halte Slipi, and the Kebayoran-bound service is not serving bus stops from Riset BPK to Istora Senayan.
Corridor 9: Pinang Ranti-Pluit is experiencing diversions due to traffic congestion around the DPR/MPR building. For Pluit-bound operations, some buses are operating normally serving all stops, while others are using the Petamburan toll road and not serving Halte Gerbang Pemuda and Petamburan.
Previously, a crowd from the University of Indonesia’s Student Executive Board (BEM UI) had planned to hold a demonstration at Bundaran HI today. They travelled using public minibuses and buses to the location.
detikcom observed students gathering at the FISIP UI field in Depok at 11:00 WIB on Friday (12/6/2026). They were dressed in black attire and UI alma mater jackets or yellow jackets. They carried banners reading ‘Menuju Indonesia Bangkrut’ (Towards a Bankrupt Indonesia) and ‘Sweet 18 Rupiahku’. The crowd held speeches before departing.
