Jakarta (ANTARA) - Hundreds of students from early childhood education to senior high school levels in the Thousand Islands took part in the ‘Kanvas Pelajar’ (Student Canvas) activity on Pramuka Island on Wednesday. The event provided a space for students to be creative, display their talents in front of the public, and build self-confidence through various art performances.

‘Kanvas Pelajar aims to give students room to create, dare to appear in public, and boost their self-confidence,’ said Mohamad Thohari, Head of the Thousand Islands Education Sub-department.

According to him, the activity ensures that students not only learn inside the classroom but also express their talents in public spaces through various art performances.

Camat of North Thousand Islands, Yulihardi, assessed that Kanvas Pelajar serves as a positive means to develop creativity while shaping the character of the younger generation. ‘Activities like this need to be continuously supported so that students become more confident, achieve more, and avoid negative influences,’ he said.

One participant, 15-year-old Saskiya, expressed her happiness at being able to dance with her friends in front of the community. ‘I am happy to channel my hobby while learning to be more confident. I hope activities like this are held more often,’ she said.

The third batch of Kanvas Pelajar was also held at SDN 01 Pulau Untung Jawa, South Thousand Islands Sub-district, with 120 students participating.
