Two groups of students were involved in a brawl on the Leuwiliang Ring Road, Leuwiliang sub-district, Bogor Regency. One student, identified by the initials IG, 16, died after being attacked with a sharp weapon.

“Correct, it happened last night. We received information that there was a victim at the hospital, so we checked and found that the person had already died,” Leuwiliang Police Chief Commissioner Maryanto told detikcom on Wednesday (14 October 2026).

Maryanto said the student brawl was reported at around 9.30pm on Tuesday (13 October). The victim had wounds on both the right and left thighs, believed to have been caused by a slash from a sharp weapon.

“From what I saw, the wounds were on the right and left thighs. They were suspected to have been caused by a sharp weapon,” Maryanto said.

“We suspect it was a clash between students, as we found no members of the public involved and most of those involved were minors,” he added.

Maryanto said police had seized sharp weapons as evidence and detained several people for questioning in connection with the fatal brawl. The investigation is continuing to identify the main perpetrator.

“At this stage, we are investigating and questioning witnesses. We have secured everyone suspected of being involved and are questioning them; that should establish who played what role. There are many of them, so I won’t give a number yet,” Maryanto said.

“We have already seized items of evidence, including sharp weapons,” he added.
