Student at Sragen School Passes Away; Social Services: Due to Illness, Not Negligence
An eleventh-grade student at the Integrated People’s School (SRT) 1 in Sragen Regency, Central Java, Anisa Nur Fadilah, passed away on Sunday (6/9/2026). The Central Java Social Services department stated that Anisa died due to illness and not because of any negligence by the SRT authorities.
“She passed away on 6 September 2026 at the Sragen Regional General Hospital (RSUD),” said Endah Dwi Setyorini, Head of the Social Rehabilitation Division of Central Java Social Services, when confirmed regarding the news of Anisa’s death on Thursday (10/9/2026).
Endah stated that Anisa suffered from a thyroid gland disease. She had been suffering from this condition since before becoming a student at SRT 1 Sragen. According to Endah, the SRT authorities always permitted Anisa to seek medical treatment accompanied by her family.
“This means that whenever her parents wanted to undergo medical examinations or follow-up appointments, it was permitted by the SR. Therefore, it was not because her being there led to her death due to negligence by the SR; rather, the child already had a thyroid gland disease,” said Endable.
She added that Anisa had frequently visited doctors to check and monitor her condition. However, before being admitted to RSUD Sragen, Anisa had reported feeling weak. “When she felt weak, her parents were contacted. Therefore, while in the hospital, she was accompanied by her parents,” she noted.
Endah explained that before entering the SR, every prospective student undergoes a health screening. In Anisa’s case, the results of the health examination had also been communicated to her parents. “The parents wanted their child to be able to attend school, so the child was still accepted into the SR,” she said.
According to Endah, the health screening process will always be applied to every prospective SR student. “Whether it was for admissions last year, this year, or next year, health screening will continue to be conducted. The results of the screening are certainly communicated,” she concluded.
