Student at SMAN Belu Thrown by Teacher; Principal Pushes for Family Settlement
Dominikus Seran Bria, Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Atambua in Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT), is pushing for the case involving biology teacher Vince Aplugi, who allegedly pulled the hair and threw student Zivania Martins Naibuti (16), rendering her unconscious, to be resolved through family settlement.
Dominikus stated that he is currently consulting with the NTT Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) regarding disciplinary action against Vince.
“That (disciplinary action) is what we are currently consulting on with the Head of the Disdikbud Branch so we can hand it over to them for further handling. Although I am the school principal, I must coordinate all matters with them,” Dominikus said when confirmed by detikBali on Friday (27/2/2026).
Dominikus explained that Vince is a civil servant teacher (PNS) who has served for several years. He stated that his office had already met with the family this morning to resolve the case through family settlement. However, there are still several requests from the family, so they are continuing to coordinate with the NTT Disdikbud.
“He is a PNS, not contract staff. This morning I also met with the victim’s family to resolve the case through family settlement. The victim is currently still hospitalised. I will provide updates on developments,” Dominikus concluded.
“The accused assaulted the victim using a bottle containing mineral water, pulling her hair and throwing the victim against a chair until she lost consciousness and experienced pain in her head and felt dizzy,” said Belu Police Criminal Investigation Chief AKP Rachmat Hidayat to detikBali on Wednesday (25/2/2026).
