Struggling to Sign Top Striker, Barcelona Shifts Focus to Omar Marmoush
La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly starting to change their strategy ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window due to financial difficulties in signing a top-tier striker.
The Barcelona management is now turning its attention to Manchester City’s versatile forward, Omar Marmoush, as a more feasible option.
The interest from the La Liga club emerged after Omar Marmoush was offered by The Citizens, who are willing to let him go for around €60-65 million (approximately Rp 1.2-1.3 trillion).
This move comes after the Catalan giants faced a complex situation in their pursuit of top strikers, who command high prices in the transfer market.
The change in direction occurred because their previous top target, Julian Alvarez, was deemed almost impossible to sign from Atletico Madrid.
Furthermore, competition from Paris Saint-Germain, which was willing to make a higher offer, added to the challenge.
After the prospect of signing Alvarez faded, attention shifted to Chelsea’s striker, Joao Pedro, who was seen as an ideal successor due to his physical endurance and excellent aerial ability.
However, negotiations once again stalled as The Blues set a minimum price of €100 million or more than Rp 2 trillion for the Brazilian striker, a figure that is beyond the current financial reach of the visiting team.
This difficult situation forced management to seek other, more affordable alternatives, leading to the emergence of the Man City striker’s name.
