Structured Patterns of Violence in the Little Aresha Daycare Tragedy

The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) has recorded five cases of violence in childcare facilities over the last three years, with the Little Aresha Daycare case in Yogyakarta being the largest, involving 53 children verified as victims out of a total of 103 who were once placed there. KPAI Commissioner Diyah Puspitarini assessed the presence of a structured pattern of violence through internal rules such as limiting parental access and practices of tying children, thus KPAI is urging immediate psychosocial support for the victims.
