Strong winds accompanied by rain swept through Denpasar and Badung in the early hours of Thursday, 5 March 2026. As a result, a section of the roof of the Ngurah Rai International Terminal collapsed.

“The weather with strong winds caused the fall of one section of the ceiling in the international terminal. We apologise to service users for the inconvenience,” said Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi, Head of the Communications and Legal Division of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, Ngurah Rai International Airport, on Thursday (5 March 2026).

Nevertheless, Sandi assured that this did not cause injuries or damage to other facilities at the International Terminal.

“We can state that the incident did not cause injuries or losses to service users or to partner organisations and business partners,” he added.

Additionally, the adverse weather did not disrupt flights. Airport operations continued optimally, with no diversions, delays, or cancellations.

“Based on flight data, there were no flights affected by the strong winds, whether in the form of diversions, delays, or cancellations,” he concluded.
