Strong Winds Hit West Bandung, Street Vendor Carts Scattered on Road
Strong winds that hit the Permata Complex in Tanimulya Village, Ngamprah District, West Bandung Regency, West Java, caused a number of street vendor (PKL) carts to be scattered on the road. The terrifying moments of the fierce wind gusts were captured by residents and went viral on social media. Based on videos circulating on social media, several vendor carts were seen overturned and strewn about after being battered by the strong winds. The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday (7/6/2026) afternoon, and the report has been received by the West Bandung Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). “It is true there was a strong wind incident in the Tanimulya area around 3 p.m. WIB. Alhamdulillah, there were no casualties,” said Acting Chief Executive of BPBD West Bandung, Duddy Prabowo, when confirmed. Upon receiving the report, BPBD West Bandung personnel immediately conducted an inspection at the location of the strong wind incident. The results showed that the event caused kiosks, counters, and vendor carts to be affected and suffer minor damage. “Those affected by the strong winds were 2 kiosks, 1 mobile phone credit kiosk, and 2 grilled bread carts. All sustained minor damage,” said Duddy.
