Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - A total of 35 temporary housing units (huntara) in three villages within the Langkahan District, North Aceh Regency, have been reported damaged—ranging from light to heavy—following heavy rain accompanied by strong winds on 2 June at approximately 18:00 WIB.

“Based on the information we received in the field, the damage varies from heavy to light and moderate, and there were no casualties in the disaster. Currently, the team is continuing data collection and post-disaster handling,” said North Aceh Government Spokesperson Muntasir Ramli, when contacted from Banda Aceh on Wednesday.

He stated that according to preliminary data, 23 temporary housing units in Gampong Rumoh Rayeuk were damaged, consisting of five heavily damaged units and 18 units with light to moderate damage. Furthermore, in Langkahan, five units sustained light damage, while in Buket Linteung, Dusun Leubok Meuku, seven units were heavily damaged, including a prayer room (mushala). As for Geudumbak, the team is still in the process of collecting data.

“Affected residents have evacuated to safer locations. The level of damage varies from heavy to light and moderate,” he added.

According to him, the construction of these temporary housing units falls under the authority of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). The North Aceh Regency Government has deployed a team directly to the location to carry out evacuation processes and data collection following the disaster that hit the Langkahan area.
