Stressed about birth certificate

From Kompas

Whether or not a family name must be put on a birth
certificate has become a confusing problem lately as there is no
standard regulation about this matter.

In some civil registry offices, this family name may be put
down on a child's birth certificate, while in others it may not
due to limited space on the form. Another argument is that the
family name is an inherent part of a child's name so it needs to
be mentioned on his/her birth certificate.

In reality, all official papers that the child will later get
such as his/her school diplomas will mention his/her name as it
is written down on his/her birth certificate. If the family name
is not mentioned on the birth certificate, then it will not be
mentioned, either, on all other documents.

Relevant authorities should clarify this matter to avoid
confusion on the part of the public.
