Strengthening Transparency: Bogor Regency DPRD Studies Information Management in Depok
The Commission I of Bogor Regency’s Regional Representative Council (DPRD) conducted a working visit to the Communications and Informatics Office of Depok City on Thursday, 26 February 2026.
Agus Salim, Deputy Chairman II of Bogor Regency DPRD, explained that the visit was part of efforts to enhance the DPRD’s institutional capacity in understanding effective public information transparency governance. “Our visit is to broaden our understanding regarding public information management in Depok City, as input for implementing our supervisory functions,” he stated.
He noted that Depok was selected as the study location because it had successfully implemented a public information transparency system consistently. In recent years, the local government has won various awards in the field of information transparency.
Beyond studying information management, Agus and his delegation also consulted regarding the standardisation of disseminating local government programme information through the communications office.
Manto, Head of Depok City’s Communications and Informatics Office, stated that various public information management systems have been implemented within Depok City Government, including recommendations from the West Java Provincial Government in conveying information to the community. “We explained the standard mechanisms for providing information, both open and exempted information. Hopefully, this presentation can serve as a reference for implementation in Bogor Regency,” he concluded.
