Strengthening Ties with Minhaajurrosyidiin at Pondok Gede: AHY Urges Pesantren–Government Synergy

The Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, known as AHY, visited the Pondok Pesantren Minhaajurrosyidiin in Lubang Buaya, Cipayung, East Jakarta, on Thursday, 5 March 2026. During the visit, AHY delivered a public lecture and provided charitable aid to orphans, while symbolically handing over food parcel packages to the surrounding community. The symbolic handing over of aid and food packages by AHY occurred warmly in front of the santri, the pesantren administrators, and attendees. The head of the Pondok, KH Hairul Baihaqi, accompanied the handover in person as a sign of welcome and respect for the care shown to orphans and local residents of the pesantren. Beyond the aid, the activities also included distribution of food parcels to the surrounding community and to the families of the santri. The assistance is hoped to ease the burden on the community and represent a tangible expression of care for others, particularly amid rising needs. During the event, AHY expressed gratitude and appreciation for being able to be present at Ponpes Minhaajurrosyidiin. He stressed the importance of synergy between government, pesantren, and society in building sustainable social care, in line with the mission of regional development that is just and evenly distributed. “I feel proud and happy that there is a large pesantren in the city, and I am grateful to be here,” he said.
