Jakarta, VIVA – PT PLN (Persero) has reaffirmed its commitment as the principal driver of the national energy transition. Through its flagship digital platform, PLN Mobile, the state-owned enterprise won the Most Attractive Booth and Most Attractive Program Activity awards at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026.

PLN’s Director of Retail and Commerce, Adi Priyanto, said the achievement reflects PLN’s strong commitment to supporting the acceleration of electric vehicle adoption in Indonesia.

“This award is tangible proof that PLN is not only focused on electricity provision, but is also building an integrated electric vehicle ecosystem that is easily accessible to the public,” said Adi in a statement on Tuesday, 17 February 2026.

Adi revealed that, based on a presentation by Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, the number of electric vehicles in Indonesia has reached approximately 103,000 units, with significant growth of up to 150 per cent compared with the previous period. This surge demands readiness in infrastructure and reliable services.

The Most Attractive Booth award was given because PLN Mobile’s booth was judged to have attracted the most visitor attention throughout the prestigious automotive exhibition. Featuring a modern, interactive and educational concept, the PLN booth offered hands-on experience with the electric vehicle ecosystem, from infrastructure familiarisation to digital support services for electric vehicles.

PLN also won the Most Attractive Program Activity award for its series of creative and interactive activities that successfully increased visitor engagement. The programme was deemed effective in reinforcing the message of transport electrification whilst enhancing public understanding of electric vehicles as an environmentally friendly mobility solution for the future.

As the backbone of transport sector electrification, PLN continues to expand the construction of public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU). By early 2026, the number of operational SPKLU has surpassed 5,000 units, spread across various strategic locations nationwide. This infrastructure is a key factor in boosting public confidence in electric vehicles, including for long-distance journeys such as the annual mudik homecoming and extended holidays.

Beyond strengthening physical infrastructure, PLN is also developing a digital ecosystem through the PLN Mobile application under the slogan “PLN Mobile, Your EV Partner.” The application enables electric vehicle users to locate the nearest SPKLU, monitor power availability in real time, and carry out battery charging transactions quickly and easily.
