Strengthening the Blue Sky Movement: West Java Democrats Engage with Ciamis and Pangandaran Residents
The Chairman of the West Java Democratic Party, Anton Sukartono Suratto, conducted a working visit using a unique approach. Riding a motorcycle, Anton traversed the Tatar Galuh region, from Ciamis Regency to Pangandaran Regency, from Thursday (27/8) to Friday (28/8).
This touring activity was organised not merely as a routine official trip, but as a means of social engagement to greet residents and listen directly to the aspirations of the people along the route.
The journey began in Ciamis Regency. On this occasion, Anton met with the Vice Regent of Ciamlar to discuss various regional potentials, community aspirations, and the concrete contributions of the Democratic Party in driving the progress of the Galuh community.
In addition to formal meetings, Anton interacted directly with local residents and greeted the motorcycle community (bikers) from Ciamis openly, without any protocol barriers.
In the evening, Anton continued his engagement agenda at the residence of a national figure from Pangandaran and former Indonesian Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Susi Pudjiastuti.
The meeting was warm, focusing on the discussion of Pangandaran’s development potential and the alignment of environmental care programmes.
“We visited Mrs Susi’s house for a social visit, and alhamdulillah, she received us very well. We discussed many things regarding Pangandaran, its potential, and the Blue Sky Movement programme that we are currently implementing. It turns out that what we are planning, Mrs Susi has been doing for a long time by encouraging school children to maintain sea cleanliness. That is extraordinary! This means we are moving in the same direction, with one heart, to protect this nature,” Anton stated on Tuesday (2/9).
Through this shared vision, Anton opened opportunities for closer cooperation in the future. He also emphasised that the Democratic Party is always open to anyone who wishes to serve, including the family or close associates of Susi Pudjiastuti.
STRENGTHENING THE BLUE SKY MOVEMENT
Anton then continued his activities in Pangandaran with the Vice Regent of Pangandaran, H Ino Darsono, to realise the series of Blue Sky Movement programmes alongside residents and local party cadres.
Anton emphasised the importance of political party consistency in accompanying the community outside of political contestation moments.
“It is not through long distances that we get to know the people. But by coming, greeting, sitting together, and listening without barriers. That is what we are doing here in Tatar Galuh,” Anton concluded.
The Deputy Chairman of the Democratic Party distributed aid such as 10 tonnes of rice, 10,000 boxes of instant noodles, medicines, food, bedding, and necessities for women, children, and toddlers.
