Strengthening Social Care through the Sebar Qurban Programme
The momentum of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah was utilised by PT Comtelindo to strengthen the value of social care through the Sebar Qurban Programme together with Human Initiative. Human Initiative’s Regional Head of Borneo, Yeni Kartika Dewi, stated that through this collaboration, PT Comtelindo distributed sacrificial animals to several regions in Indonesia to provide benefits for communities in need. “This year, PT Comtelindo distributed three cows in Balikpapan, one cow in Bontang, and four goats which were distributed to Sleman, Yogyakarta, Kutai Kartanegara in East Kalimantan, and on to Kotabaru and Marabahan in South Kalimantan,” said Yeni. She stated that this programme is not only part of annual worship but also an effort to expand the benefits of qurban so that they can be felt by people in various regions. “With us, Human Initiative, the distribution process is carried out in a planned manner to ensure that aid is right on target and reaches areas in need of support,” she continued. She added that besides helping to meet the community’s food needs, the qurban activity also strengthens residents’ togetherness. The community was involved in various stages of the activity, from preparation and the slaughtering process to the distribution of the qurban meat. “The involvement of residents creates a spirit of mutual cooperation while strengthening social relations in the surrounding environment,” said Yeni. She expressed that the collaboration is proof that care can be realised through concrete steps that have a broad impact on society. “Through the Sebar Qurban Programme, more families can feel the benefits of Eid al-Adha while strengthening the spirit of sharing and social solidarity.” “This spirit of sharing is hoped to continue through various collaborative acts of kindness to bring wider benefits to communities across various regions in Indonesia,” Yeni added. Komariah, one of the programme’s beneficiaries, admitted she was grateful for the qurban assistance received this year. “Alhamdulillah, this year we were able to get qurban meat. We were also able to hold a communal meal and selamatan with the surrounding residents. Thank you to PT Comtelindo and Human Initiative for their care,” she said.
