Several members of the Board of Commissioners and Directors of PT Pertamina (Persero) ensured that Pertamina’s operations across various regions operated at full capacity. The visit, conducted as part of the Ramadan and Eid Task Force (Satgas), was made to PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk in Medan and the oil and gas fields of PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) in Pekanbaru.

“Pertamina’s presence holds significant importance for the continuity and growth of the economy. Therefore, substantial consolidation is required to support this,” explained Deputy Chief Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) Todotua Pasaribu during his visit to PHR in Rokan, Pekanbaru, on Thursday (5 March).

Todotua Pasaribu visited the Rokan Zone alongside Pertamina Commissioner Nanik S. Deyang, Pertamina Independent Commissioner Raden Adjeng Sondaryani, Director of Transformation and Business Sustainability Agung Wicaksono, and Finance Director Mega Satria, as well as the Board of Commissioners and Directors of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) and PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan.

VP Corporate Communication Pertamina Muhammad Baron added that the visit by the Board of Commissioners and Directors to operational regions demonstrates top management’s commitment to ensuring operations are adequately prepared, particularly for the Ramadan and Eid holiday periods.

Baron explained that Pertamina is an integrated upstream to downstream oil and gas company, possessing the capability to manage energy sustainability. During Ramadan and Eid, oil and gas fields such as PHR continue operating without closure, ensuring crude oil production remains at expected levels.

The PHR Rokan Zone is one of Indonesia’s largest oil and gas producers, accounting for 27% of national crude oil production. It currently operates 88 active fields, supported by 30 drilling rigs and 54 work-over and well service rigs, with 500 development and exploration wells.

“The Rokan Zone focuses on maintaining baseline production through asset revitalisation programmes and well optimisation, as well as technology deployment,” Baron explained.

Meanwhile, at the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Mother Station facility—the first of its kind in Medan city, owned by PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) through its subsidiary PT Gagas Energi Indonesia—Pertamina Group’s Board of Commissioners and Directors ensured safe gas supply for industrial sectors and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the region.

The inspection was led by Pertamina’s Independent Commissioner Condro Kirono and Director of Logistics and Infrastructure Jaffee Arizon Suardin.

The review also covered the Integrated Control System (ICS), the operational control centre that monitors natural gas distribution 24 hours a day. Through this integrated system connected to PGN’s gas pipeline network, the system monitors pressure, flow rates, infrastructure conditions, and alarm reliability to detect potential disruptions early.

“Pertamina’s top management regularly conducts direct visits to operational regions to ensure readiness of the Ramadan and Eid Task Force of Pertamina Group, enabling Pertamina to deliver services and maintain energy stock availability to meet public needs,” Baron added.

Pertamina, as a leading company in energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission target by 2060 and continues to advance programmes with direct impact on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). All such efforts align with Pertamina’s transformation oriented towards governance, public service, business and environmental sustainability, implementing Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) principles across all Pertamina business lines and operations.
