Strengthening Public Communication in the Digital Era, Polri's Public Relations Holds 2026 Technical Working Meeting
The Indonesian National Police (Polri) held the 2026 Public Relations Technical Working Meeting (Rakernis) in Jakarta. This event serves as a strategic forum to strengthen the public relations function of Polri in addressing the increasingly complex dynamics of public information in the digital era.
The 2026 Polri Public Relations Rakernis adopts the theme ‘Optimising Public Communication and Media Management, Polri Public Relations Precisely Ready to Successfully Implement Polri’s Work Plan and the Government’s in Realising the President’s Asta Cita Programme for the Republic of Indonesia in 2026’.
The event was attended by Polri public relations personnel both in person and online, from headquarters to regional levels.
To strengthen public relations capacity, the 2026 Polri Public Relations Rakernis also conducted a series of activities, from material briefings by internal and external speakers to panel discussions addressing strategic public communication issues.
In his remarks, the Head of the Polri Public Relations Division, Inspector General of Police Johnny Eddizon Isir, emphasised the strategic role of public relations in maintaining information stability and enhancing public trust in the Polri institution.
‘In the era of digital technology and artificial intelligence, the speed of information must be balanced with truth. Polri public relations must be at the forefront in ensuring that the public not only receives information quickly but also receives accurate information,’ said Inspector General of Police Johnny in a written statement on Tuesday (14/4/2026).
Inspector General of Police Johnny also affirmed that Polri public relations plays a crucial role as the spearhead of public communication, not only conveying information but also building a positive image of the institution sustainably.
According to Inspector General of Police Johnny, future challenges are becoming increasingly complex with the rapid advancement of technology and the growing potential for disinformation in the digital space.
This Rakernis also serves as a momentum for evaluating performance, aligning perceptions, and formulating more adaptive, professional, and data-based public communication strategies.
In addition, the event is expected to enhance the capacity of Polri public relations personnel in managing both conventional and digital media.
Through the 2026 Polri Public Relations Rakernis, it is hoped that stronger synergy among public relations ranks will be built, along with the optimisation of media management in shaping constructive public opinion, increasing transparency, and strengthening public trust in Polri.
