JAKARTA - PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) is implementing a culture of occupational safety within the SIG Group through Visible Safety Leadership (VSL). In addition to improving worker comfort, this initiative is also able to drive productivity.

SIG Corporate Secretary Vita Mahreyni stated that the measure is carried out by ensuring active involvement from management lines who directly engage in the field to dialogue, conduct observations, and provide constructive interventions when unsafe conditions or actions are found.

To enhance and strengthen these efforts, SIG is promoting a transformation towards Visible-Felt Safety Leadership (VFSL), where safety leadership is not only visible but also felt as genuine concern by workers.

“This aims to build trust, strengthen collaboration, and foster a shared sense of responsibility for safety,” she said in an official statement on Monday (30/3/2026).

Vita added that the occupational health and safety (OHS) culture stems from the awareness that safety is a collective responsibility starting from each individual and is a shared need.

She said that SIG strives to place OHS as a primary value at every stage of operations across all organisational levels within the company, aiming to prevent workplace accidents and Occupational Illnesses (OI).

“It also ensures the comfort of employees and company partners in working, thereby making them more optimal and productive,” Vita stated.

This achievement received recognition at the Indonesia Best Companies in HSE Implementation 2026 event. SIG, in the Manufacturing category, was awarded the ‘Excellent’ predicate, which is the highest accolade at the event.

The Indonesia Best Companies in HSE Implementation 2026 award is given to companies that have demonstrated outstanding performance in implementing good corporate governance, including aspects of OHS and sustainability.

The assessment is conducted by experienced professionals and leading academics in the field of OHS through various stringent parameters that cover compliance with regulations, strategies, and innovations in HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) implementation, as well as positive impacts on the environment and society.

“This achievement serves as motivation for SIG to continue improving the implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) to maintain worker safety, protect the environment, and ensure business sustainability,” Vita concluded.
