Regent of Tangerang Moch Maesyal Rasyid has emphasised the Tangerang Regency Government’s commitment to promoting anti-corruption education from an early age as part of efforts to strengthen national character.

The statement was delivered by Maesyal while attending the launch of the Guidebook and Teaching Materials for Anti-Corruption Education at the Sasana Bhakti Praja of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), Central Jakarta, on Monday (11/5/2026).

The Tangerang Regency Government hopes that the book will assist educators in primary and secondary education levels in providing clearer teaching methods related to instilling values of honesty, clean culture, and anti-corruption to their students.

“With this book, it is hoped that teachers can obtain a clearer picture and direction for teaching values of honesty, clean culture, and anti-corruption that lead to the formation and strengthening of national character,” said Maesyal, as reported from the tangerangkab.go.id website on Monday.

“We fully support and are ready to ensure the success of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology’s programme that positions education as a means to strengthen the formation of national character and personality at the primary and secondary school levels,” Maesyal stated.

According to him, values of honesty, good character, and manners must be instilled from an early age, not only in school environments but also in families and communities.

“The culture of honesty, cleanliness, and civility must begin from an early age. Our students not only gain knowledge from the school curriculum but also experiences from family and community environments,” Maesyal stressed.

“With the launch of this anti-corruption education guidebook, we commit that schools can serve as models for how the culture of honesty, cleanliness, and anti-corruption is not limited to knowledge but becomes the main culture and civilisation,” he added.

Furthermore, Mu’ti conveyed that the anti-corruption education guidebook was designed systematically and in stages to serve as a strategic roadmap for building a generation of the nation with integrity.

He stated that the guidebook can serve as a national reference for educational units and stakeholders in instilling anti-corruption values from an early age up to secondary level.

On the same occasion, Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto hoped that this anti-corruption education guidebook would strengthen the instillation of clean and anti-corruption culture from an early age to students.

“I hope that today, tomorrow, and in the future, anti-corruption does not start from the courtroom but from the classroom. Our children and grandchildren from an early age can already understand the culture of living honestly and cleanly as well as the prevention process,” he expressed.
